Company Summary

Converge Strategies, LLC (CSL) provides consulting services focused on the intersection of resilience, national security, and clean energy. Our mission is to integrate resilience and security as first principles in the clean energy transformation. CSL takes new approaches to resilience strategy development in the face of climate change, vulnerable infrastructure, and determined adversaries. Clients include the military, private sector, and all levels of government with rapid growth in each sector of engagement. CSL has offices in Boston and Washington, D.C., and this position is flexible in its location with clients primarily located in the Washington, D.C. area. Candidates must be able to operate on an Eastern time zone-based schedule to participate in client and team discussions. CSL is focused on the following opportunities:

  • Engaging and building new and diverse stakeholder groups to take action on the energy transformation.
  • Rapidly deploying clean energy technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, and battery storage to support critical infrastructure and disaster preparedness in states and cities.
  • Scaling-up Department of Defense energy and climate resilience strategies for domestic and global missions.
  • Supporting energy and climate partnerships between companies, governments, and the national security enterprise.

Position Summary

An Associate is a full-time, supporting position that aims to build, strengthen, and refine key consulting and project management skill sets. This position will support Senior Associates, Directors, and Principals at CSL with event execution and strategic communications.

Specifically, the Associate will be expected to:

  • Work closely with the CSL team to write, edit, and implement effective communication strategies and outreach campaigns, including social media posts, website support, and newsletter creation.
  • Communicate and regularly engage with project stakeholders for in person and virtual events.
  • Participate in highly detailed event logistics and grow to fully own start-to-end in-person and virtual event design and execution with the Converge Strategies team.
  • Learn or grow an understanding of clean energy through research on clean energy, national security and resilience topics.
  • Develop high-quality project deliverables such as event run-of-shows, timelines, and briefing decks in collaboration with other members of the Converge Strategies team.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing willingness and ability to learn about new business areas and skills beyond current fields of expertise. Associates will attend webinars, review publications, and receive mentorship through subject matter experts within Converge Strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications and event design.
  • Connect and leverage professional networks to create new opportunities for collaboration.
  • Travel approximately 30% or as needed.

Qualifications

  • Desire to grow strategic communications and event planning expertise.
  • A track record of team-building, adaptability, and collaborative engagement.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful to solve problems using creativity and collaboration when the answers are not readily present.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to easily communicate complex, highly detailed issues and options to different audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organization, and planning abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced company environment engaged in multiple projects.
  • Ability to thrive within highly collaborative and dynamic teams.
  • Professional or research experience in climate resilience, vehicle fleet electrification, renewable energy project development, utility engagement, and/or state and federal government energy policies.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree or equivalent functional certifications preferred.
