Conway Regional is Hiring a Specialty Clinic Administrative Assistant Near Conway, AR

Overview

The Specialty Clinic Administrative Assistant will coordinate with the Physician, Clinic, and Hospital Staff to provide efficient services to clinic patients. This position is responsible for the scheduling aspect of testing and procedural services, reviewing scheduled procedures and ensuring that necessary precertification or authorization for services is obtained promptly and accurately. Provides organization and general support for the Physician.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately collects required patient data and procedural information to schedule testing and procedures.
  • Correctly schedules by coordinating the amount of procedural time required and selecting proper procedural codes.
  • Modifies and corrects schedule as needed due to cancellations or requests for change from physicians or patients.
  • Coordinates schedule with other physicians if co-surgeon or assistant surgeon is needed.
  • Initiates eligibility verification.
  • Communicates schedule to physicians at prescribed times on a daily basis.
  • Works with insurance companies to ensure authorization for services is obtained.
  • Communicate authorization information with hospital personnel.
  • Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to deal with frequent interruptions.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Utilize effective interpersonal skills with patients, physicians, and other clinic staff.
  • Demonstrates advocacy for patients and staff.
  • Participates in activities that promote personal and professional development.
  • Assists other team members in completion of duties and backs up as needed.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

PRE-HIRE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education
  • Basic keyboarding skills
  • Two years’ experience in the health care field
  • Medical terminology course work or experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF ORIENTATION:

  • Attendance at New Employee Orientation classroom program
  • Aggression management training prior to completion of orientation

Other education and experience may be substituted (if applicable) for the required minimum job qualifications with the approval of the Corporate Director of Human Resources.
