Cook County Offices Under the President is Hiring a TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST (BUREAU OF HUMAN RESOURCES) Near Chicago, IL

Handle day-to-day talent acquisition functions and activities by engaging in end-to-end recruiting processes and special projects. Partner with hiring managers to identify, source, and recruit highly qualified candidates for specific departments. Utilize various applicant selection tools, analyze data, and coordinate efforts to ensure strict adherence to policies and procedures. Build networks through social media, job boards, employment agencies, professional associations, and employee referral programs. Communicate and follow up with candidates to ensure end-to-end talent acquisition candidate experiences are seamless. Travel to various sites to facilitate recruiting events as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree and
  • Two (2) years of staffing, recruitment, talent acquisition, or directly related experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a Government Human Resources Department, with a focus on Talent Acquisition
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

Candidates who are contacted will be required to produce original required documents (e.g., current driver’s license, diploma, school transcript, certifications, etc.) listed on the Notice of Job Opportunity within five (5) days of being extended an offer, in writing, by the Bureau Chief of BHR (or designee).   • Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of Human Resource administration, especially in selection and recruitment processes and industry-wide standards used to ensure a fair and equitable approach.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend Human Resources and recruitment-based data.
  • Ability to learn and navigate recruiting and hiring software.
  • Skill in maintaining performance under pressure to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Skill in planning and prioritizing project activities based on urgency and importance.
  • Ability to provide moderate-level insight, advice and expertise to other professionals, management, and external contacts in an assigned functional area.
  • Ability to operate as a team player and communicate specialized knowledge to team members, managers, and
    external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of moderately complex principles and practices for a specialized area of focus.
