The Front Office Clerk serves as the first point of contact, greeting patients and following check in/out procedures for the Cook Family Health Center, the primary care medical practice operated for Cook Group company employees and their families.
• Answer phones and processes calls following office guidelines• Obtain, review, and update patient information• Maintains Security by following procedures• Issue confidentiality and privacy agreements to visitors• Scan all demographic paper for patients• Insurance verification• Schedule patient appointments• Contact patients to remind of future appointments • Collect patients co-payments and outstanding balances• Day-end reconciliation duties• Must maintain confidentiality at all times
• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels• Maintain regular and punctual attendance• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards• Must have effective oral and written communication skills• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.• Must strictly adhere to the Cook Clinic Employee Manual, Cook Code of Conduct, Cook Electronic Information Policy, HIPAA & OSHA regulations
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2 years experience in medical office environment• Previous multi-line phone & customer service experience • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience
Physical Requirements:
• Works under general office environmental conditions• Sitting for extended periods of time, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.• Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel or crouch• Able to lift 20 pounds occasionally
