Client is looking for a System Architect to oversee the Division s application and system development implementation design efforts. The candidate will work with project managers, developers, and business analysts to oversee the design and architecture of new applications and provide direction as needed to enhance existing applications. Additionally, the candidate will provide recommendations on updating and upgrading existing databases and data. Familiarity with IRS Publication 1075 and NIST 800-53 requirements and systems dealing with Federal Tax Information is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Work with management to ensure DevSecOps and Zero Trust methodologies are adhered to.
Work with management to update application development efforts to modern software coding best practices using segmentation, containerization, microservices, and Zero Trust.
Work with management and subject matter experts to design, create, and update end-to-end systems using modern coding standards.
Work with a variety of teams, both inside and outside to ensure adherence to updated standards so that systems are consistent and compliant.
Make recommendations for standardizing system design and data structures for all systems supported.
Work with development teams and vendors on architecting properly documented, secure, and efficient applications.
Make recommendations to improve data import and export processes.
Review database structures when applications are created or enhanced.
Provide guidance to teams on database performance tuning and normalization.
Work in a team environment and assist in the mentoring of junior developers and database administrators.
Work on multiple tasks and initiatives concurrently while being accountable for driving the success of the project application development.
Skillsets required:
5 years experience on DevSecOps application development
5 years of experience designing cloud native systems and services running on a Kubernetes platform
Experience in developing within the Zero Trust Security model.
Experience designing shared common services as well as applications that call them.
Experience designing secure, regulatory compliant solutions and work with staff to perform code reviews to ensure written code is secure and satisfies their design.
Experience working on and designing multiple systems concurrently.
Experience with IT systems for tax filing, processing, and administration is a plus.
