Role Description

Responsible for the design and development of fire sprinkler layouts that offer structural compliance and maximum efficiency while meeting legal and industry standards. The individual should have a firm understanding of all aspects of fire sprinkler design and mechanical contracting and be able to communicate effectively with contractors, designers, owners, and job-site personnel while representing Cooper Fire Protection Services, Inc. in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Perform research and analysis, utilizing feedback from other industry experts.

· Coordination with engineers and technicians. BIM coordination.

· Stays current with all design software and attends training as needed and/or required.

· Reads blueprints.

· Provide field support as needed.

· Submit designs for approval by architect/engineer/customer and AHJ.

· Provide hydraulic calculations and stock listing.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience with fire sprinkler system design, including hydraulic calculations and layout
• Proficiency in AutoSprink is preferred or the desire to learn
• Knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, NFPA 14, NFPA 72
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• NICET II Water Based Systems Layout
• NICET in Special Hazard Systems is desired
