Job DescriptionWorking collaboratively with the Director of Data Engineering, functional Business Intelligence Leads and other data engineers, design and maintain the PBI infrastructure & environment to directly support the CSI enterprise reporting and analytics infrastructure. Be the bridge between the business units Business Intelligence Leads and the Data Engineering Solutions Architect to enhance and extend the CSI Common Data Model to ensure all data needed is available for timely and actionable analysis, reporting and insight-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high quality, scalable data assets that support contemporary BI tools and advanced analytics.
  • Develop new and maintain existing data pipelines and data flows.
  • Help to design and implement best in class data-visualization and reporting solutions leveraging the CSI Common Data Model and Power BI.
  • Assist and oversee the various business unit’s data verification processes are complete in order to ensure all the consolidated enterprise data is correct and appropriate.
  • Prototype high impact innovations, catering to changing business needs, by leveraging new technologies.
  • Possesses functional knowledge and skills reflective of a competent practitioner with the ability to deliver on work of highest technical complexity.
  • Consults with functional management in the analysis of short and long-range business requirements and recommends innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing business needs.
  • Provides highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies that assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate activities with cross-functional IT unit stakeholders (e.g., database, operations, infrastructure, etc.)
  • Work closely with the product owner to evaluate stakeholder requested features and provide input on estimating effort and feasibility for release level and sprint planning.
  • Formulates logical statements of business problems and devises, tests and implements efficient, cost-effective analytics and data aggregation solutions (enterprise level design and data sharing methodologies required)
  • Prepares charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems, utilizing various business, scientific, engineering, and mathematical techniques. Analyzes existing system and programming logic to provide more efficient machine operations or to identify difficulties, and revises the logic and procedures involved as necessary.
  • Takes part in the development of advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive modelling, data mining, and machine learning, to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the BI team, implementing best practices, adopting emerging technologies, and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Travel:5% = 3 weeks per year, some travel to other CSI offices, manufacturing, distribution centers maybe be needed.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative fashion with Business Intelligence Leads, IT leaders, enterprise systems Business Systems Analysts, and third-party partners
  • Expertise in SQL, MS Synapse, MS Power BI and complimentary leading data analytics tools.
  • Expertise in building Power BI Data Pipelines and Data Flows to support enterprise level data sharing.
  • Strong knowledge with MS Azure Data Lakes and familiarity with MS Azure Fabric.
  • Experience with MS D365 F&O functionality and data models is required.
  • Familiarity with MS D365 CRM, MS Navision functionality and data models is a plus.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with business partners at all levels of the organization to understand their data engineering needs and deliver, in an agile fashion, innovative solutions.
  • Strong bias toward action and delivering measurable results.
  • Self-starter that works effectively remotely and independently.

  • None
Experience:
  • 3 years direct, hands-on work experience in data modeling and/or engineering is required.
  • 5 years overall experience in data, analytics, reporting and/or business intelligence roles is required.
  • Understanding of Operations reporting needs, and Operation experience are required.
  • Software development and solution architecture roles are a plus.
  • Life sciences and manufacturing industries experience is preferred.
  • Experience working within the context of data privacy regulations (e.g. HIPAA, GDPR) is a differentiator.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information technology, engineering or other science discipline is required.
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience can be substituted for degree.
