  • Description
–This co-op will have opportunities to design fixturing for new projects, develop new analytical methods for evaluating our products, and participate in collaboration with other technical teams. This co-op will conduct fatigue, shaker, and life testing to evaluate critical parts and to explore new solutions for existing designs. In addition to testing, this co-op will analyze data using statistical methods to deliver solutions through timely reporting to key stakeholders. This co-op will provide direct support for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning engineering teams.
  • Responsibilities
–Assist in creating and executing reliability and durability test plans
–Assist in the development of novel Reliability tools
–Design test fixtures in CAD software
–Set-up, run and tear down physics-based engineering tests
–Analyze data sets from internal testing, external customers, and warranty
–Assist with root cause analysis of failures
–Write engineering reports
–Keep inventory of test samples
–Take detailed notes of testing procedures and results
–Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Basic Requirements
–Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering or related field
–Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
–Able to work 40 hours a week (Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:30pm) during the scheduled semester
–Completed Strength of Materials (or equivalent) courses
  • Preferred Requirements
–Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
–Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office
–Sophomore or higher standing preferred
–Computer Programming (Python, LabVIEW, etc.) experience
–CAD Modeling Experience
–Statistical analysis (Lognormal, Weibull, etc.) experience
–Capable of using basic hand tools
