We are a health and wellness company based in Midtown Manhattan, specializing in providing high-quality products through various channels such as online marketplaces, retail stores, and direct-to-consumer sales. Our company has a strong focus on ecommerce and has experienced rapid growth in recent years. We are looking for an experienced Finance and Accounting Controller to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Finance and Accounting Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial and accounting operations. They will report directly to the CEO and work closely with other senior executives to drive the company's financial growth and success. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role within a fast-paced health and wellness company, with a strong concentration in ecommerce, and have experience contributing to companies that did more than 75MM in sales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the company's accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting functions
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements are produced
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
• Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to senior management to improve the company's financial performance, including contribution margin analysis by channel
• Partner with the CEO and other senior executives to develop and implement strategic financial plans that support the company's growth objectives
• Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure that budgets are aligned with the company's strategic goals
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and other financial service providers
• Ensure that the company's financial systems and processes are scalable and can support rapid growth
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team
• Utilize operating systems to improve financial and accounting processes and efficiencies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• CPA or CMA certification preferred
• At least 8 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role, with significant exposure to health and wellness companies and ecommerce
• Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
• Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that support business growth
• Experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
