COHO Consulting Group seeking an experienced HR ConsultantPosition Description (PD) Writer for a federal customer. This role is part of a process improvement team and will support organization changes with drafting for updating federal positions descriptions for wage grade and general schedule employees. The position is part-time and remote. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Support HR POC in the development of federal government civilian Position Descriptions.
Work closely with Branch managers and supervisors to ensure duties and responsibilities of position series are written up for specifics positions.
Support changes and or creation of new position description as it relates to changes in technology or organizational structure.
Provide the following support in developing PDs:
Perform Job Analysis
Gather Information: Interview job incumbents and supervisors.
Review Documentation: Examine existing job descriptions and organizational charts.
Benchmarking: Compare similar positions within the agency and other federal agencies.
Define Job Responsibilities and Duties
List Core Duties: Identify and articulate primary duties and responsibilities.
Detail Specific Tasks: Break down core duties into specific tasks.
Establish Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Define necessary education, experience, skills, and competencies.
Special Requirements: Include unique requirements like security clearances or certifications.
Develop Performance Standards
Set Clear Expectations: Describe performance standards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Align with Agency Goals: Ensure standards align with the agency's mission and goals.
Format and Review
Consistent Formatting: Use a standardized template and formatting style.
Review and Revise: Conduct reviews with HR specialists and stakeholders.
Approval Process: Obtain necessary approvals before finalizing.
Essential Job Requirements:
Clearance:
Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources or other bachelor's degree with minimum of 5 years of Federal HR experience
Required Knowledge/Experience:
5 years of experience writing positions descriptions with federal customers
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
Experience with wage grade, bargaining union, and general schedule PDs
Experience with DoD customers
Experience with WHS customers
