About the Company: Our client, represented by Coppersmith Recruitment and Services Inc., is a leading metal fabrication company located in Freeport, Illinois. They specialize in the manufacturing of metal products, including shear panels, roll-formed products, and metal building systems.

Position Overview: As a Production Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machines to produce metal products according to work order specifications. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and quality of production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and feed progressively smaller dies in the machine and repeat operations until the wire diameter meets work order specifications.
• Insert wire into the machine's feed mechanism, start the machine, and monitor operations.
• Turn setscrews to secure the roller die in the machine.
• Load the spool of wire on the spindle and thread the wire through the machine and around the take-up reel.
• Start the machine and adjust controls to regulate speed and temperature to required specifications.
• Record production information in computerized or manual system packets.
• Perform daily safety and mechanical checks of the machine to ensure it is safe and running properly.
• Maintain safety procedures at all times.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of machine operation experience.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Basic knowledge of operating a Windows-based personal computer.
• Self-directed and able to work efficiently with little direct instruction.

Physical Requirements:

• The role requires standing, walking, pulling, and bending 100% of the time.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime and weekends as needed
