Our client is an award winning, $20m Real Estate company looking to add an Assistant Controller to their team. This role will focus on overseeing the financial reporting accuracy, assisting in the month end close, payroll expense reports, and day to day Accounting operations. Additionally, this role will report into an awesome Controller and can be fully remote. Salary will be around $135k depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Prepare, analyze and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Oversees the preparation of periodic reporting and required legal filings.
• Ensures that all corporate and required accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed by the organization.
• Support the annual audit process by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Prepare and file various tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Provide support for budget development, special projects and other initiatives as required.

Qualifications

• CPA certification preferred.
• 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• 2 years of managerial experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
