Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is Hiring a Staff Accountant (Non-profit) 16475721 Near Washington, DC

Cordia resources is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing month-end reconciliations, supporting audits, and performing variance analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience with Sage Intacct and a strong background in accounting, preferably within a non-profit environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Month-End Reconciliations: Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end closing activities, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions and procedures.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of budget vs. actual variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide insightful explanations and recommendations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements and other reports as required.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, organizational policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to gather information and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
