Overview

We are seeking Field Commissioning Engineers to join our Water sector. The Field Commissioning Engineer will have the MEP and controls technical experience to provide the project level expertise for MEP and controls equipment inspections, Start-up, and Commissioning procedures. The Field Commissioning Engineer will report directly to the Commissioning Manager and work on multiple projects simultaneously and will be expected to travel to various project sites in order to perform the duties of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design reviews on project drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, and shop drawings of Instrumentation & Control System for compliance with the owner's project requirements, basis of design, and sustainability goals.
  • Prepare a commissioning plan, pre-functional checklist, and functional performance tests to conform to the project specifications and drawings.
  • Perform field observations for verification of construction status.
  • Interface and coordinate directly with the contractor and operations during inspection and testing process.
  • Understand project CPM schedule and Commissioning schedule for proper sequencing of work.
  • Assist in the development of the Commissioning schedule and updates.
  • Document issues identified at all phases of the project and ensure their resolution.
  • Prepare reports documenting project progress, commissioning issues, training of owner's personnel, functional test results, and achieving the energy savings set out in the sustainability goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical or chemical engineering or construction management from an accredited university is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience with the Start-Up and Commissioning process is required
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering and/or Instrumentation & Controls discipline is preferred
  • Certified Commission Professional or Certified Commissioning Authority Certification is preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with all Microsoft Office suite products
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and experience in maintaining strong client relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people through oral presentations and written communications, in person and remotely
  • Acumen to work independently adhering to guidelines and procedures established by the Commissioning Manager and adapt to field situations
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, creative, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
  • Ability to travel extensively to project sites and vendor/contractor office locations as necessary

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000

Work Location: On-site at the Playa Del Rey office location and travel to fielding sites in the Greater Los Angeles area as needed.

Travel: Up to 75%

Visa Sponsorship: Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.

Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check is required.
