Core BTS is Hiring an IT Support Technician Near Mineola, NY
We have opportunities available at many of our Long Island, NY locations. We are seeking a full-time (5-days per week) resource capable of performing IT support activities. The resource will be responsible for working directly with our K-12 clients including students, staff, and school district administrators.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will have 3-5 years of technical support experience, education, and/or certifications, along with a desire to learn and motivation to excel in a customer service-centric environment.
We are looking for team-oriented performers with outstanding work ethics, excellent written abilities, and a solid communication foundation interacting with all levels.
Experience in computer networking, PC/Mac environments, Operating System upgrade/updates, and customer service are highly desired.
This position is NOT remote. You will be required to report to the worksite daily on Long Island.Essential Duties
- PC and hardware support including computers, tablets, cameras, interactive whiteboards and projectors, printers, etc.)
- Hardware troubleshooting
- Hardware setup/configuration
- Hardware repair and replacement
- Driver and software support - updates & upgrades
- Operating system and application support
- Computer reimaging
- Help desk ticket remediation
- Provide support to additional technical staff
- Communicate directly with onsite team and supervisor
- Bids server using Ubuntu Server and Customized NextCloud for hosting
- Repair and management of iOS devices within the district with us of Jamf Pro Mobile management
- Configure VLANS on different ports for device network needs
- Creation of new ID cards
- Creation of new Active Directory accounts and assign Office 365 email address
- Creation of new staff member/student workspace emails
- Creation of new workstation images
- Deploy and image of workstations
- Toning and crimping CAT 5 ends for network access for devices
- Assist with help desk ticket requests that require additional assistance.
- Board of Education meetings/general assembly A/V and technical support
- Knowledge of networking a plus
- 3-5 years of experience as an IT Support technician
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer-oriented and cool-tempered

The base pay for this position is typically $17.00/hr to $22.00/hr. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate, including experience and location.
