Theincumbent should be able to perform all of the following functionsat a pace and level of performance consistent with the jobperformancerequirements

Assistant dentist with the treatment ofinmates / residents by setting up all instruments for each patientand treatment to be rendered and preparing impressions and fillingmaterials.

After each treatment, sterilize the dental unit andinstruments used and replace instruments prior to the next patienttreatment.

Control medication, syringes and other dental suppliesor equipment; inventory as required by establishedprocedures

Keep equipment and work area clean; utilize appropriatesanitationmethods.

Review dental services provided to prevent theinappropriate use or duplication ofservices.

Review status of inmates / residents for completion ofall necessary intervention and treatments andservices.

Qualifications :

High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent orgreater.

Oneyear of dental assisting experience is required.

Certificate or evidence of completion of a dentalassistant training program or other requirements that meet thecriteria of the Dental Practice Act in the state of practice, incompliance with contract or applicable statutes is required.

Avalid driver's license is required.

Minimum age requirement : Must be at least 21 years ofage.
