Job Title: Financial Intelligence and Research Analyst

Location: Reston, VA (On-site/Hybrid)

Clearance Requirements: Top Secret

Job Description:

Core One is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Intelligence and Research Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background financial and commercial due diligence, business intelligence, research, and data analysis. This role involves conducting in-depth research and analysis on commercial and financial data sets, digital and financial identities, as well as gathering data from various online sources, including cyber landscapes and open-source forums. The candidate will compile and analyze data to produce comprehensive reports and briefings, providing valuable insights to our clients for due diligence and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed research on digital, financial, commercial, and social media data bases identities of individuals and entities of interest.
  • Aggregate data from diverse sources, including commercial and financial data sets, online forums, social media platforms, and messaging services.
  • Analyze and interpret data within databases/financial documents to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks.
  • Lead the execution of both scheduled and unscheduled Assessment, Risk Management, and Due Diligence assessments across diverse plans, platforms, programs, and operational functions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and briefings for clients, summarizing findings and providing actionable insights.
  • Document research findings in due diligence reports and provides oral/written presentation of findings to the client.
  • Collaborate with other team members to enhance research techniques and improve overall capabilities.
  • Utilize various tools and platforms for data collection/aggregation/analysis such as business/financial intelligence, research analysis, search engines, and media exploitation.
  • Identify targeting leads to enable a variety of intelligence operations through the exploitation of classified and open-source databases.
  • Engage operational components within the customer organization to address targeting requirements and develop new leads for operational exploitation.
  • Use analytic targeting tools to distill complicated financial data into clear reports

Qualifications:

  • Ability to maintain Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in digital/media analysis, data analysis/aggregation
  • Able to d​​​​​emonstrate proficiency in manipulating various classified and open-source databases in support of the client's mandate to collect and acquire financial intelligence.
  • Strong understanding of encrypted communications and cyber landscapes.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
  • Familiarity with online forums, social media platforms, and messaging services.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of financial forensics, financial intelligence, and digital currency tracking.
  • Ability to communicate results of targeting efforts in various message formats, including through the preparation of detailed targeting packages.
  • Expert use of analytic targeting tools to distill complicated financial data into clear reports; expert level economic or financial analysis skills using large data sets; and superior finished analysis that is responsive to requirements and consumer interest.
  • Previous experience in law enforcement or intelligence agencies.
  • Previous experience with business and financial database analytics/management tools.
  • Experience with tools and platforms such as Sayari, Experian, Intelius, LocatePlus, etc.
  • Graduate of a reputable Due Diligence Training Course (i.e., M&A, IMAA, ACCA, or similar)
