Core Personnel Staffing Services is Hiring a Paralegal - Employment and Labor Law Near Dallas, TX

The Paralegal will work closely with our General Counsel, providing legal support and assistance in various legal matters. The successful candidate will have a strong background in transactional law, employment law, and labor law, and will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Counsel with legal research, analysis, and documentation.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Support transactional activities, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and corporate governance.
  • Provide legal support in matters related to employment and labor law, including compliance, dispute resolution, and policy development.
  • Maintain and organize legal files, documents, and records.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external parties on legal matters.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the company's operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of legal and administrative duties in the area of Corporate law, Employment law, Unemployment Issues, and Worker's Compensation.
  • Be responsible for the formation of new corporate entities and implementation of corporate reorganizations (e.g., amalgamations, continuances, dissolutions).
  • Support and/or perform corporate secretarial activities relating to all legal entities including minute books, resolutions, authorized signatories, and powers of attorney.
  • Assist in preparing litigation documents including motions, briefs, and other litigation materials.
  • Conduct relevant legal research and other related duties as required by legal team members.
  • Create and implement corporate compliance procedures.
  • Review and draft a variety of contracts to accurately reflect business requirements; recommend alternatives, additions, or changes, when necessary, to conform with internal policies, minimize risk, and achieve proper framing of the business needs.
  • Provide contract support for standard corporate agreements, employment agreements, non-disclosures, marketing, and independent contractor agreements.
  • Prepare legal documents related to the development and implementation of corporate policies, procedures, and templates.
  • Provide negotiations and interpretation support for commercial & corporate agreements of various types.
  • Submit claims to small claims court to retrieve delinquent funds or ensure timely dispute resolution.
  • Work with senior management to provide support for documents and activities related to corporate restructuring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Paralegal certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on transactional, employment, and labor law.
  • Strong knowledge of legal principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
  • Familiarity with the staffing and employment industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
