Job DescriptionESTIMATOR / PROJECT ENGINEER (Commercial Construction)We are seeking an Estimator / P.E. to help us keep up with existing and projected workload, estimating, and assisting with overall project management. We are a lean, nimble group in need of a candidate with 2-4 years of construction experience who can step in to manage and support all aspects of a project life cycle. Pre-con, budgeting, estimating, submittals, RFIs, subcontractor negotiations, project planning, scheduling, buildout execution and final project close out.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is a chance to be a part of all phases of the construction process. The candidate will have to be able to undertake a wide variety of responsibilities that include some of the following:
- Take on bulk of company estimating duties including drafting invitations to bid, sub outreach, sub vetting, work scope development, budgeting, value engineering, and drafting client proposals.
- Sole management of smaller commercial projects with limited oversight.
- Support Project Managers and site Superintendents in the full life cycle of larger projects.
- Attend the OAC and Subcontractor meetings and write weekly reports and job summaries.
- Create and update construction schedules.
- Write submittals, change orders, requests for information (RFI) and other critical project communications.
- Create subcontract agreements, participate in contract negotiations, create pay applications, manage budgets and create financial reports at project level.
- This position will entail work onsite occasionally that includes meetings, supporting project superintendents, project deliveries, etc.
- Assist in the close-out process, including managing punch list, collecting and organizing all the required documentation, forms, transmittals, manuals, and certifications.
- Effective and thorough communication with clients.
- Must take full ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Must be willing to fill in at any level where there's an immediate need.
- Must be tenacious and unrelenting.
- Must be brave enough to present ideas to improve methods and processes.
- Must be an over-communicator.
- Must be able to solve problems creatively.
- Must prefer a fast pace and thrive under pressure.
- Must love construction!
- College Degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of construction-related experience.
- Strong technical background in construction software – Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, MS Office, and more.
- Great communications skills – verbal & written.
- Salary Range $80,000 to $95,000, dependent upon experience.
