Candidates for this role should be self-motivated and organized, familiar with the relevant literature, and enjoy scientific investigation and thinking. The role will require technical proficiency, scientific creativity and exercise independent thought in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation of results while working in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to bioassay method development: optimizing and establishing cell-based potency assays to determine the potency of drug substances and drug products.
  • Cell-based assays to evaluate cellular response for viability and cytokine secretion, as well as MoA studies.
  • Perform immunological assays such as multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, functional assays, and cell-based reporter assays.
  • Isolate and cryogenically store immune cell populations from human blood products using immuno-magnetic beads.
  • Characterization and stability testing of drug product formulations.
  • Responsible for procurement, production and maintenance of critical reagents, cell lines, and cell banks required for experiments.
  • Characterize physiochemical properties of drug products (size, zeta-potential, morphology, concentration, stability, interaction with proteins, etc.) using different techniques.
  • Develop assays to evaluate degradation pathways and define critical quality attributes of drug substances, drug delivery platforms and drug products.
  • Assist in maintaining general lab safety and functionality, including maintenance of equipment.
  • Ability to recognize anomalous and inconsistent results and interpret experimental outcomes.
  • Organize details, analyze data, troubleshoot, and communicate findings in team meetings.
  • Proactively identify issues and develop solutions in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
  • Plan and coordinate scheduling for experiments with other group members.
  • Clearly and accurately document experimental work in an electronic lab notebook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS with 4 years or MS with 2 year laboratory research experience (industry preferred) in biology, immunology, biochemistry, or equivalent.
  • Experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture skills is critical. Previous experience with primary cell lines is a plus.
  • Proficiency with immunological and biological assays (flow cytometry, ELISA, western blotting, etc.) and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Previous experience using Benchling as an electronic lab notebook platform is a plus.
