Role: We are seeking a Director of Data Engineering to lead our data engineering team, overseeing the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure. This role combines the responsibilities of a Principal Data Engineer and a Director, with the plan to hire an additional resource under the Director of Data Engineering in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the data engineering team.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and integrations.
- Implement best practices for data warehousing, ETL processes, and data management.
- Ensure alignment of data engineering efforts with business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support AI and analytics initiatives.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in data engineering practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in data engineering, with 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency with data engineering tools (e.g., Airflow), data warehousing, ETL processes, SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
