The Data Scientist II develops code, analytic algorithms, data management tools and scripts, which assists our finance and economics professionals in understanding and modeling the facts underlying major litigation disputes or investigations. The Data Scientist II works to streamline and automate the work on consulting and firm building projects. The Data Scientist II uses high-level software tools (e.g., R, SQL, Netezza, Git, Python, SAS, Stata) to clean, build, sample, and prepare data for analysis, build analytics models, and conduct econometric/statistical analysis. In addition, the Data Scientist II uses casework experience to identify and develop new capabilities and reusable code in areas such as text analytics, web data collection, data visualization, and machine learning and disseminate those capabilities within the firm. The Data Scientist II will be a technical resource for the Data Science Center and for the firm. They will work closely with other Data Science members to optimize the use of all the computing resources at our disposal, support/augment case teams to meet the most complex client demands and continue to expand and develop our technical capabilities. The Data Scientist II is a highly independent professional who will be asked to solve a range of non-routine problems with moderate guidance and direction. The Data Scientist II mentors Data Scientists I and seeks opportunities to manage projects and processes. They also contribute to shaping training and mentoring of Data Science staff and consulting staff in coding.
