Main ResponsibilitiesThe Associate will be responsible for performing day-to-day tasks related to financial advisory for credit unions. This includes providing insights on balance sheet management, assisting with ALCO meetings, and offering recommendations for portfolio management.
- In partnership with senior Accolade investment advisers, provides counsel and support to client management and asset-liability committees. Participates in the ALCO meetings of clients to interpret risk reports, financial performance, and provide guidance on the balance sheet impact of strategic decisions.
- Reviews and evaluates Asset Liability Management (ALM) model results, identifies straightforward to somewhat complex anomalies and reports findings to Accolade advisors. Assists clients in the interpretation and understanding of interest rate risk levels and trends.
- Performs ad-hoc analysis, investment research, and strategy development at the request of senior Accolade investment advisers. Develops and supports tools used to produce Investment Advisory deliverables.
- Collects data from clients monthly/quarterly per established process and validates data for reasonableness. Works with clients to troubleshoot and problem solve issues with data collection and integrity.
- Delivers excellent public relations and relationship management services for Accolade. Provides support to the sales process.
- Proactively pursues professional development opportunities pertaining to investment and client management, and the credit union industry.
- Flexible to perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience in addition to educational requirements listed above, balance sheet management for a financial institution is preferred.
- Specific Job Knowledge and Skills Required: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem solving abilities, effective communication skills and an understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting are required. Licensed Investment Advisor Representative (Series 65) preferred and/or must be obtained within 180 days of employment.
- Technology Skills Required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Power BI analysis and Bloomberg a plus.
