Role: Data Governance Expansion Lead

Work Location: Chicago area with a requirement to be in the office 8 times per month (Southern Wisconsin, Northern Indiana, and Southern Michigan are commute option)

•  Position - Data Governance Expansion Lead (This role will be the consulting partner lead for the client’s Sr. Manager of Data Governance Enablement (Stewardship)

The Data Governance Expansion lead will play a significant role in enabling client’s data governance strategy, framework, and platform to drive efficiency and value realization in the overall data value chain. 

The role will focus on enabling the data governance framework and Collibra capabilities within key business functions/markets by identifying and prioritizing use cases that will contribute towards the longer-term business and data governance objectives

Data Governance Enablement 

o Drive engagement from business and technology partners applying the data governance framework and platform capabilities to ensure that the client achieves a return on its investment 

o Responsible for articulating the overall data governance storytelling/business case to leadership and aligning the messaging to the specific business/technical/market strategy 

o Develop a pipeline for data governance use cases and ideas – coordinating across the business and technical teams to understand their needs with a focus on the customer outcome or the desired ‘why’. Support data governance operations and platform teams to prioritize capabilities and identify the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ to deliver on the use case 

o Oversee the prioritization, planning, delivery, and adoption of use cases ensuring business requirements are met and the business value is realized 

• Align the appropriate resources to deliver the use case and for ongoing data governance roles 
• Ensure alignment to global standards, frameworks and processes 
• Partner with change adoption team to create a seamless change/rollout process and ensure consistency in messaging 
• Support knowledge transfer, training and rollout of new use case 

 o Support the data domain councils who will be key customers and contributors toward establishing the proper governance processes and guardrails for self-service data discovery and use of Runway capabilities 

Ongoing Operations 

o Work with business stakeholders to drive strong data ownership, enable adoption and governance of the platform

o Coordinate with the data domain councils and business leadership to ensure we are prioritizing key initiatives, new capabilities and supporting meaningful business outcomes

o Monitor and support the adoption of the governance framework by business and technical teams, as well as data owners

o Drive curation, quality and visibility of the data in the platform

o Document and implement current workflows, data policies, standards, and procedures for both legacy and new data applications

o Support the design and curate data dictionaries based on stakeholder requirements

o Work with teams to ensure complete data lineage is captured and managed for our data of record

o Perform data quality audits, identify data collection issues, suggest improvements, and help implement fixes

o Support data governance program adoption and effectiveness across the enterprise, aiding with program metrics and monitoring, program scoping and resource requirements, communication, collaboration, and ideation on improving program efforts

o Provide user training, education, and documentation to support adoption of consistent governance best practices
