Job Title: Health and PE Teacher. Main Purpose: Corvian Community School develops the whole child and seeks to address the cognitive, emotional, social and physical needs of each student. The ultimate goal is to help students develop happy, healthy lives well-equipped for the future.
Core Accountabilities: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health and Physical Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality instruction in health and physical education based on North Carolina state standards. This individual will play a crucial role in promoting healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and overall well-being among our students. Key Outputs/Results:
Develop and implement engaging curriculum for health and physical education classes in alignment with North Carolina state standards.
Plan and deliver differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying abilities and learning styles.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement, participation, and personal growth.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and stakeholders to support student success and promote a holistic approach to education.
Integrate relevant health topics into the curriculum.
Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as sports teams, fitness clubs, and health-related events.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and the community to support the overall well-being of students.
Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in health and physical education, continuously seeking opportunities for professional growth and development.
Essential Knowledge:
Deep understanding of health and physical education concepts and proficiency in teaching a range of health and physical education topics.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Education, Physical Education, or related field.
Valid teaching certification/license in North Carolina preferred.
Previous teaching experience, preferably in a charter school or diverse educational setting.
