The Social Media/Communications Assistant will aid in the overall public relations, promotional and communication strategies of the conference through all social media platforms, traditional communications approach and the official website. This position will report to the Director of Communications and will gain valuable experience in the sports communication/media relations space.

Duties will include writing and producing press releases, compiling statistics, formulating story lines, reporting results to media outlets, maintaining record books, and serving as the specific media contact for assigned sports, to be determined.This position will also assist staff members in the administrative oversight of selected conference events and on-site championship management.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or nearing completion with a major in communications, journalism or a related field.Expertise in all social media platform strategies and execution of campaigns.Must be proficient in Microsoft Suites and Adobe Software and familiarity with NCAA Live Stats and Stat Crew.An AP writing style skill set with excellent verbal and written communications, organizational efficiency and the ability to manage multiple projects in a detailed manner is important.The selected candidate must adhere to strict deadlines and have an independent project management oversite.An ability to work in a collaborative team environment, in office and open concept space will be expected.An overall practical experience in media relations in the college space is requested.A 40 hour work week is expected, some event based travel is expected and the selected candidate must live in the DFW Metroplex
