Job Summary
The Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the warehouse within a manufacturing plant. This position involves receiving, storing, and dispatching products while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Warehouse Associate will work closely with other team members to maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment, support production needs, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders or delivery notes.
- Inspect products for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Inventory Management:
- Accurately record inventory movements and update inventory systems.
- Organize and store products in designated areas to optimize space and facilitate easy access.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
- Order Fulfillment:
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment based on production schedules or customer requests.
- Ensure all orders are complete and accurately labeled before dispatch.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Adhere to safety regulations regarding the handling and storage of materials.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on warehouse equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Housekeeping:
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Ensure that all work areas, including storage and shipping areas, are kept tidy and free from hazards.
- Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with production teams to coordinate the flow of materials.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed and support team members in achieving departmental goals.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is advantageous but not required.
- Experience with warehouse management systems and equipment is a plus.
- Skills:
- Basic math and computer skills for inventory management and order processing.
- Ability to lift heavy items and operate warehouse equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Certifications:
- Forklift certification preferred but not required; training may be provided.
Working Conditions
- Physical Requirements:
