We are seeking an accomplished Director, Software Development to join our team in supporting the Homes.com product. You will have a direct impact on highly visible Homes web applications that touch millions of users.
This position is located in Washington, DC and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
Responsibilities

• Leading cross functional product developments team to deliver innovative products to our customers, while also acting as a player/coach.
• Architecting, building, testing, and deploying scalable, reusable, and maintainable applications that handle large amounts of data.
• Taking full ownership of your work, from development and testing to eventual deployment and support in production.
• Collaborating with other engineering teams, product owners, designers, and leadership.
• Becoming a trusted team member in matters of technical architecture, design, and code.
• Advocating for evolution and improvement - both technical and non-technical - within our teams. Includes new tech, tools, and best practices.
• Gaining a deep understanding of the CoStar business.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college.
• A track record of commitment to prior employers
• Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience building large distributed, API-driven systems and leading agile teams.
• 5 years served in a leadership role with multiple years managing multiple scrum teams
• Significant full-stack experience, with deep expertise in back-end technologies (C#, .NET Framework, Web API, Node, Data storage, SQL, etc.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers, and senior management)
• Excellent team building, negotiation and consensus building abilities.
• Ability to motivate and build high performance software development teams.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Real world experience designing and implementing complex application architectures on Amazon Web Services.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jest, Mocha, and Chai.
• Expertise with Analytics presentation tools like D3 and/or Google Maps API.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration.
• Commercial Real Estate (CRE) or Residential Real Estate knowledge is a bonus.
