Experienced Quality Tech- Level A

This position encompasses various duties associated with the monitoring and measurement of product the control of monitoring and measurement equipment, the control of conforming product, and the quality assurance of manufactured and purchased product.

• Must be competent with technical math, including basic algebra and basic trigonometry.
• Should be competent at inspecting gears and interpreting gear test results. Knowledge of Zeiss Calypso with GearPro software preferred.
• Should be competent with statistical techniques, including control charting, and completing gage capability studies.
• Should be willing to participate competently in the internal audit process.
• Should be willing and capable to support the development of effective control plans throughout the product life cycle to PPAP approval.
• Must have a thorough understanding of blue print reading, including the ability to aide design engineering in the proper application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to at least the ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
• Proficient at programming and operation of CMM. Experience with Wenzel preferred.
• Must be capable to perform in house inspection equipment calibration, including minor repairs and adjustments on gages and precision equipment.
• Must be able to check, test, and approve new gages, jigs, fixtures and precision tools before they are used.
• Should possess substantial experience in machine operation and inspection work.
• Capable to perform surface plate layout work, including simple casting layout.
• Thoroughly understand system of records and disposition of material and handles this work accurately and promptly.

Cotta typically doesn't hire at the top of the pay range. Factors that will increase this initial wage will include knowledge, experience and education. Ability to earn up to $1.50/hr in "step" increases throughout the first year of employment.
