Responsibilities as an MDS Nurse at Country Manor:

• Responsible for all assigned MDSs, CAAs, and care plans according to State Regulations and Standards.
• Complete RN Assessments as assigned.
• Actively work with nursing staff to aid in the accuracy and completion of item sets of MDS.
• Know and comply with facility and department safety rules.
• Assume responsibility for personal growth and development by attending in-services and educational programs made available.
• Attend daily report and monthly wing meetings.
• Assist with auditing of documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and standards of practice are met.
• Assist with skin assessments and weekly skin rounds as directed.
• Assist with completion of clinical and reimbursement audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure in the State of Minnesota.
• Knowledge and understanding of reimbursement of skilled payors/insurances including but not limited to Medicare, Medicare Replacement, private and commercial health plans.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Minnesota Case Mix System, MDS process, care planning system and general resident assessment requirements.
• Strong nursing assessment skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
• Must be in good mental and physical health and have a genuine concern for the elderly.

Qualifications Preferred:

• 2 years experience as an RN Knowledge and understanding of resident assessment instrument (MDS)
