Company Overview: Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum documents and interprets the history of country music—a musical genre and culture central to the identity of the city, the state, and the nation. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the museum proudly combines subject expertise, ambitious research, and preservation of an unparalleled collection with expressions of creativity in music, art, and history. The museum collects artifacts that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music and provides diverse learning opportunities through educational programs, publications, and exhibitions. The core exhibit follows the story of country music from its folk beginnings through its evolution as a commercial art form. Rotating exhibits examine a broad range of topics, from country classics to contemporary and emerging artists in American Currents. The museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Elvis Presley and many others recorded.

Departmental Overview: The retail department includes 3 independent retail locations and an art gallery within the museum building, with a total of 8,800 square feet of selling space. Two E-commerce sites, and well as wholesale and product development are key elements of the business. The department generates revenue through the sales of goods that provide vital operating revenue for the museum.
Job Overview: The E-Commerce and Receiving Associate is responsible for all aspects of fulfillment, oversight and customer service related to the E-commerce operation.
Specific Job Duties:
  • Protect the security of inventory and other assets according to company guidelines and directives.
  • Fulfillment of orders
  • Using Shopify software, pull/pack and ship all incoming e-commerce orders
  • Follow departmental protocols regarding inventory storage and movement between store locations
  • Alert management if items are being oversold or are showing incorrect stock levels
  • Package and ship “store sends” in a timely matter and provide tracking information
  • Coordinate with other retail staff sharing work and stockroom spaces
  • Receiving of goods
  • Verify incoming shipments ensuring quantities received match the quantity expected.
  • Receive goods in the POS system in a timely manner ensuring accuracy
  • Communicate discrepancies in a timely manner to store management
  • Ensure all items are appropriately tagged and priced before moving to the stock area
  • Assist with shipments coming from the warehouse
  • Maintain a clean dock and receiving space
  • Customer Service
  • Uphold superior level of customer service when assisting with online customers.
  • Establish a working relationship with all fellow store staff to support company initiatives and objectives.
  • Bring positive recognition to CMHOF’s brand through professionalism, enthusiastic attitude and effective communication.
  • Represent CMHOF’s core values, emphasizing a positive work environment that is fun and unique.
  • Ability to perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by Director of Retail without hesitation.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
  • High School graduate
  • Previous Retail Stock experience or sales experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Retail receiving experience
  • Experience with direct customer interaction
  • Experience in multi-store receiving and distribution
  • Knowledge of retail inventory control processes
  • Knowledge of Counterpoint sales system
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Outgoing and friendly personality

  • Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed
