Ensure that YOY feed milling efficiencies and costs are improved upon and are accomplished each year
Ensure that all ingredient sampling programs at all mills and toll mills are followed
Ensure that the QA programs are followed at all mills and toll mills
Ensure that feed delivery equipment and head count is in place to deliver all feed as required all the time
Ensure execution of feed sampling programs
Ensure Micron grind size and PDI standards are met at all mills and toll mills
Communicate any quality issues with the procurement and nutrition teams.
Ensure all BMPs are compliant at all mills and toll mills
Ensure compliance to the FSMA program at all mills and toll mills
Ensure all environmental regulations are in compliance at all mill and toll mills
Ensure the biosecurity program is followed at all mills and toll mills
Ensure the safety program is followed for feed manufacturing and feed delivery team
Work closely with Feed delivery operations to ensure prompt and accurate delivery every time.
Review the utility rates for all mills, to be competitive
Negotiate all toll mill rates and feed delivery rates, and controllable savings are achieved.
Establish KPI's for all operating areas for feed milling, procurement and nutrition
Directly supervise all feed operations, all locations and toll mills to budget
Ensure VFD compliance at all mills and toll mills
Procurement
Be accountable for overall ingredient cost for all toll millers
Participate in risk management of ingredients for CVFF/CFG
Review the forecasting of feed ingredient needs by mill
Ensure ingredient delivery, and ensure minimum inventory levels are met at all mills
Ensure maintaining market intelligence for strategic ingredient purchasing decisions
Be responsible for both macro and macro ingredients at all times all mills
Be responsible for strategic programs around ingredient pricing and working with growers
Lead negotiations with strategic suppliers
Be responsible for incoming ingredient quality and communicating to nutrition and operations
Ensure safe sourcing of ingredients (bio secure)
Ensure good communicate both short term and long term of ingredient opportunities with nutrition and operations
Build business plans for future investments around ingredient procurement
Ensure the annual budgeting of feed ingredient needs is accurate
Ensure the quarterly forecasting of feed ingredients is accurate, and YOY controllable savings are achieved
Nutrition
Be accountable for all nutrition requirements are being met at all mills all the time.
Review all formulations to main genetic requirements
Review all research trial protocols for effectiveness
Ensure YOY nutritional controllable savings are achieved
Ensure that good communications are achieved with the production team as customers all times
Strategic Planning
Ensure accurate growth capital needs for feed milling locations
Develop and lead the annual business planning process
Annual budgeting and quarterly forecast
Participate in annual planning for CVFF and CFG as required
Lead strategic planning for these 3 areas
Participate in strategic planning (3-5 year planning) for CVFF/CFG
Be involved in feed industry networking to ensure BMPs are understood
CVFF / CFG Team
Ensure the overall 3 depts. controllable savings targets are achieved
Be engaged in the coaching of direct reports
Be engaged in the succession planning for area
Ensure effectiveness of all training programs
Participate in all CVFF area meetings
Conduct Performance Management of all direct reports
Participate in production leadership meetings
Ensure customer satisfaction from pork production team in all areas
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or a degree from an accredited technical school; or a minimum of five years related experiences and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years of feed milling management experience.
Practical knowledge and experience in animal nutrition/ ingredient procurement.
Position requires living within proximity of the production facilities (Middletown, PA).
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Must understand that the Company is a producer of high quality pork and be supportive of the mission of raising swine for meat.
Must be willing to learn and perform the responsibilities described within CVFF's process manual.
Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
