Countryside Veterinary Hospital is a small animal hospital located in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. We are a small team, who all share a common goal of caring for animals and the people who love them. Our well-established practice ensures our patients receive our utmost care to live long and healthy lives.

We are looking for a Full-Time Veterinary Technician to help provide care to our patients and client service. Prior experience in the field is highly recommended, although we are eager to teach individuals just out of veterinary technician school.

Veterinary Experience: 1 year

Applicants must be compassionate, have a strong work ethic, motivated, positive attitude, able to multitask efficiently in a high-paced environment, and prepared to work in harmony as a team.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of veterinary practice procedure, operations and terminologies
• Must handle animals appropriately to ensure safety of all the involved
• Ability to read medical records and record procedures/treatments in medical files
• Basic knowledge of medications, side effects and accurate administrations
• Reliably place IV catheters
• Reliably obtain cephalic, lateral/medial saphenous and jugular blood draws
• Be able to obtain laboratory sample collection, and process: Fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology (for mites, bacteria & yeast), urine analysis
• Perform diagnostic imaging
• Be proficent with intubation and anesthesia monitoring
• Perform dental cleanings
• Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
• Interact professionally and compassionately with pet owners
• Provide compassionate patient care of hospitalized patients

The anticipated starting hourly rate for individuals expressing interest will determined by the schedule, experience, skills, and abilities of the applicant.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
