County of Delaware is Hiring a HR Advisor Near Media, PA

The HR Advisor is responsible for assisting with the researching and processing of employee and position work for all departments as well as assisting with the administration of all benefits programs including medical, dental, life insurance, disability, supplemental retirement, and auxiliary assistance plans.

  • Analyze and research employee and position information provided on Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) and coordinate with department heads and their representatives to ensure that the data submitted is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with processing employee and position work submitted by departments.
  • Compile and process employee data obtained from the PAFs and enter information into SAP (this process requires 100% accuracy) while working under stringent deadlines.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from employees relative to Human Resources policies and benefits-related queries; refer specific questions to appropriate HR representative and coordinate the response.
  • Assist employees with enrolling in PlanSource.
  • Provide support to employees with health, dental, life, and other related benefit claims.
  • Process loan forgiveness applications.
  • Process tuition reimbursement applications.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information. 
  • Maintain familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Human Resources field.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, and special projects, as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Finance, Human Resources or Social Sciences; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 to 3 years experience in Human Resources information processing, compensation and benefits.
  • Extremely accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work.
  • Able to multi-task and complete assignments under stringent deadlines with 100% accuracy.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of county management.
  • Strong language and writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong customer service experience and/or skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
  • Knowledge and skill with standard office equipment (fax, copier, calculator, etc.). 
  • General understanding of Human Resources guidelines, etc.
  • Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
  • Able to use common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to establish priorities (remain focused on daily operations).
  • Able to balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Treat others with respect and consideration.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn new tasks.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate to advanced Outlook skills (Email and Calendar)
  • Intermediate to advanced Internet research skills 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk or hear. Occasionally, the employee will need to stand, walk, reach above shoulders, climb stairs, and drive to and from various locations. On rare occasions, the employee will need to bend at the waist or work bent at the waist, work with arms above shoulders, and carry or lift items.

The special vision requirements for this position are:

  • Close vision (while working on computers and for map preparation).
