• Monitor and assess student progress and make adjustments to instruction as necessary
• Understand , support and relate appropriately to high school and elementary level students
• Communicate and work effectively with students, parents , and colleagues and administration
• Effectively teach the required curriculum
• Design and plan instructional lessons that are aligned to State Content Expectations and the Districts Documented Curriculum
• Use differentiated instruction for diverse learners
• Reflect on teaching practices and actively participate in Professional Development
• Monitor and assess student progress
• Maintain appropriate and timely student records
• Have a clear understanding of effective classroom management
• Maintain appropriate, productive and efficient learning environment
• Implement building / district improvement plans within instructional practices
• Effectively utilize technology to enhance instruction

Qualification Requirements

Applicant must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate in elementary or secondary education for the specific content area.

• Willing to work collaboratively and cooperatively with principal and colleagues
• Ability to efficiently interact with technology

Education And / Or Experience :

Successful completion of student teaching

• Additional experiences with middle or high school aged students (coaching, clubs, )
• Knowledge of Middle School Content Expectations
• Knowledge of the diverse needs of adolescent learners

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (if applicable) :

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate or Interim Certification

Physical Demands (if applicable) :

Must be able to meet the needs of various levels of students

Work in classroom, sitting at desk, modeling instruction, and move throughout classroom supporting sh1dent needs.

Ability to use a computer and related software with fingers and repetitive motions.
