Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fishing Instructor and Events Coordinator to join our team. This role involves teaching fishing techniques to both children and adults and organizing fishing leagues, tournaments, and other related events. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, extensive knowledge of fishing practices and equipment, and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing their expertise with others. Responsibilities: 1. Fishing Instruction: - Conduct fishing lessons for individuals and groups of all ages and skill levels. - Teach fundamental fishing techniques, including casting, baiting hooks, and reeling in catches. - Provide guidance on selecting appropriate fishing gear and tackle. - Educate participants on fish species, habitats, and conservation practices. 2. Events Coordination: - Organize and oversee fishing leagues and tournaments, including scheduling, registration, and participant communication. - Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, equipment rental, and safety protocols. - Collaborate with vendors and sponsors to secure prizes, sponsorships, and promotional materials. - Ensure events run smoothly and safely, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines. 3. Customer Engagement: - Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants of all backgrounds and abilities. - Provide personalized instruction and feedback to enhance participants' fishing skills and enjoyment. - Respond to inquiries, provide information, and address concerns from prospective and current participants. 4. Equipment Maintenance: - Maintain and repair fishing equipment, ensuring it is safe, functional, and in good condition for use. - Manage inventory of fishing gear, supplies, and promotional materials. 5. Safety and Compliance: - Enforce safety protocols and regulations during fishing activities and events. - Stay informed about local fishing laws, regulations, and environmental concerns, and educate participants accordingly. - Monitor weather conditions and make decisions regarding event cancellations or modifications as needed. Qualifications: - Proven experience in fishing instruction and event coordination, preferably in a recreational or educational setting. - Deep knowledge of various fishing techniques, equipment, and fish species. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of participants. - Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality. - CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain). - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. - Passion for outdoor recreation, conservation, and community engagement. Preferred Qualifications: - Certification or training in fishing instruction or education. - Experience working with youth and/or community groups. - Knowledge of marketing and promotional strategies to attract participants and sponsors. - Familiarity with social media platforms and online event management tools.
