There are currently two (2) Contingent full-time Installer positions with the Telecommunications Division.
Within the Telecommunications Division of the Department of Public Works, the mobile vehicle Installer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic communications equipment for County public safety vehicles. The incumbent will assume an active role in ensuring quality installations, configuration, and programming of public safety equipment, including radios, data terminals, light bars, and other ancillary vehicular equipment. There are currently two (75 bi-weekly hours) position available in the Telecommunications Division.
Our Highly Qualified Candidate:The highly qualified candidate has personal and professional integrity, is highly organized, possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, approaches their work with enthusiasm, and demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service. The candidate has an electronics background, experience, and knowledge of basic electronic theory, including Ohms Law, AC/DC theory, audio and radio frequency circuits, electronic measurements, semiconductor fundamentals, and low voltage cabling. The ideal candidate uses sound independent judgment within established procedural guidelines and is knowledgeable regarding the safe operation of hand and power tools used in facility and equipment maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, or irregular periods of time in emergency conditions. They will also be accountable to carry through assignments with independence and thrive in a team environment that encourages cooperation, communication and mutual sharing of risk, responsibility, and reward. Possession of certifications or accreditations related to the electronic field or automotive repair industry is highly desired.

Disaster Service Workers: All County of Marin employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
