County Risk Services, Inc. is Hiring an Insurance Field Inspector Near Montgomery, AL

Risk Management Field Consultant

County Risk Services, Inc., a captive third-party administrator for a public entity self-insurance risk pool (liability, property, and workers' comp programs) , is seeking a highly qualified, team-oriented member for its Risk Management Field Consultant position. The ideal candidate would live in the central part of the state of Alabama and would cover a territory of counties as assigned. Experience or familiarity with handling insurance claims and working with county government, political subdivisions, and self-insured risk pools preferred.

The Risk Management Field Consultant is responsible for conducting safety surveys and training to county and county-related entities of Alabama and reporting their findings and recommendations to the County Commission, Department heads, Sheriff’s Office, and client.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Conduct physical inspections of operations, property, plant and equipment
  • Conduct risk assessments in the assigned region with a focus on risk management
  • Perform loss frequency analysis; identify, analyze and provide plan for corrective action as necessary
  • Conduct accident investigation and loss analysis to identify loss
  • Conduct safety training as requested
  • Make recommendations to members
  • Assist Claims Department with investigations and on catastrophic losses
  • Assist Underwriting with risk evaluation, exposure and controls
  • Provide underwriters with accurate descriptions of physical and operational details of member
  • Maintain working knowledge of Federal, State and other pertinent codes and regulations applicable to Workers’ Compensation, Property, Liability and Casualty lines of coverage
  • Travel requirements 50 to 75%, mainly within the state of Alabama

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management or associated field from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Professional certifications preferred
  • At least three years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • High level of technical insurance knowledge and competence
  • Ability to recognize coverage issues

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May be required to move or transport boxes or equipment occasionally
  • May be required to climb stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Will be required to file, stand, reach, kneel or squat
  • May be required to drive for extended periods of time
