Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Participate in month-end close processes and all general ledger accounting tasks
• Record journal entries related to transactions for numerous properties and management companies, including revenue, expense, prepaids, and debt service.
• Complete bank reconciliations for numerous accounts across multiple portfolios.
• Reconcile, review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, and improve efficiency through automation, standardization, and best practices.
• Provide support to external auditors for annual audits across multiple portfolios.
• Assist in creating and maintaining current department procedure documentation.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Working knowledge of GAAP and best practices for completing month-end close

• Able to work with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
• Strong attention to detail to avoid or catch potential errors on financial statements
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to multitask, establish priorities to meet deadlines
• Proficient MS Excel skills required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience, property management industry preferred.
• Experience with month-end close, posting journal entries, general ledger reconciliations required.
