We Are Inspired to Serve. Join us! The Application Developer position is responsible for supporting internal application development needs. They are responsible for creating and implementing high-quality software solutions using the .NET framework as well as assisting in supporting, organizing, and pruning the organizations internal SharePoint sites. They will be a key partner with business leaders to review what is critical in their areas, what is currently in use and what they may have to be developed. This role is also responsible for interfacing with outside developers that may also be supporting software development operations within the organization. Additionally, the Application Developer may work to assist in transferring traditional file libraries to SharePoint sites. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Support and lead the development of internal organization applications such as SAIDO and LifeConnect. Administer, manage requests, and update the organization’s SharePoint sites. Design, develop, and maintain software applications using the .NET framework. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Maintain relationships with Central Office leaders for software development needs. Interfacing with external development resources to guide application development and enhancement of applications. Develop a roadmap and update plan to manage the process of improving the functionality of SharePoint. Update pertinent information for each community SharePoint site. COMPETENCIES: .Net Development Knowledge - Proven experience as a .NET Developer or Application Developer with knowledge of the tools and technologies including C#, Interfacing with SQL, and HTML5. Project Management - Ability to maintain a project schedule and roadmap to new feature and fixes. Can self-manage workflow as well as that of any external development resources. SharePoint Administration Skills - Experience in developing SharePoint Online solutions, including developing with SharePoint technologies and building sites using modern SharePoint development tools and languages. Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Ability to plan and carry out multiple and varied responsibilities with limited supervision and direction, and take initiative on routine responsibilities, organize own schedule and duties to complete responsibilities. Working on projects will require working with others both in the IT team as well as other disciplines. Effective communication skills - Provide clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with a variety of people who have varying levels of experience and understanding of systems and technology. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Required Degree: Equivalent experience Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s in computer science Certificate(s): Applicable industry certificates Experience: 4 years of Software development experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: Knowledge of.NET Development including C# and HTML5/CSS3 Knowledge of the function and makeup of Microsoft SharePoint. Comfortable interfacing and working with IIS and SQL Knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus Possesses ability to think creatively to devise customizations Possesses knowledge of best practices for maintaining information security. Is familiar with website layouts and html and other associated web development technologies. Can design and manage multifaced projects across numerous business lines. Can translate between technical jargon and layman’s terms for the sake of working with business partners. Good inter-personal relationship skills and the ability to deal well with others while handling a variety of routine tasks and responsibilities in a professional, prompt manner. The individual must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with regular contact with those who work in other locations. Ability to plan and carry out multiple and varied responsibilities with limited supervision and direction, and take initiative on routine responsibilities, organize own schedule and duties to complete responsibilities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The majority of time is spent in an office setting. The position requires occasional handling of lightweight materials and physical ability to use the telephone, computer and keyboard, printer, and other office equipment.
