Role: Desktop Support Specialist

Base Pay Midpoint: $58,000

Location: Denver / Onsite

About This Role

Covered is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused IT Helpdesk/Desktop Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a strong desire to provide exceptional technical support to end-users.

About You And Your Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in related IT field or equivalent work.
  • Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably in a helpdesk or desktop support environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace
  • Strong knowledge in desktop operating systems; Mac and Microsoft.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar are a plus.
  • Self-motivated possessing a sense of urgency and unwavering confidentiality.
  • Possess the knowledge and experience to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Critical thinker with demonstrated problem solving and analysis talents.
  • Planful, organized, timely with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience collaborating with audits to include SOC II.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Keen interest and knowledge of systems, hardware, software, office productivity tools, with aptitude to learn new software and systems with a heightened interest and/or experience with InfoSec
  • Must value accountability and dedication to producing an excellent end result.
  • Values the importance of representing and protecting the company’s cultural DNA.

Role Accountabilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, remote assistance, and in-person
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
  • Set up and configure new user accounts and equipment.
  • Perform system upgrades and patches as required.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document all support activities, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions, in the helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Assist with IT asset management including inventory tracking and procurement.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on technology best practices and procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
