Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Personal Injury Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling personal injury cases, including car accidents, slip and fall incidents, wrongful death, and other related matters. This role involves working closely with clients, attorneys, and other legal staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently and effectively from client intake to the drafting of demand letters or lawsuits.

Key Responsibilities

Client Intake and Case Management:

  • Conduct initial client interviews to gather detailed information about the incident and injuries.
  • Collect and organize relevant documentation such as police reports, medical records, witness statements, and insurance information.
  • Set up and maintain case files, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurately recorded.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on case progress and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Liaise with medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties involved in the case.
  • Schedule appointments, depositions, and meetings with clients, witnesses, and experts.

Legal Research and Documentation:

  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Review and summarize medical records, bills, and insurance policies.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents as required.

Drafting and Reviewing:

  • Prepare demand letters to insurance companies outlining the facts of the case, the extent of injuries, and the compensation sought.
  • Assist in drafting complaints, petitions, and other legal documents necessary for filing lawsuits.
  • Review and organize discovery materials, including interrogatories and requests for production.

Case Preparation and Support:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Organize and manage case-related documents, exhibits, and evidence.
  • Prepare settlement packages and coordinate mediation or settlement conferences.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain the legal calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Enter case information into the case management system and update as necessary.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required to support the legal team.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a personal injury paralegal, with a focus on car accidents, slip and fall cases, and other personal injury matters.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law and legal procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and case management software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
