SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Job Summary:
Work closely with Accounting team to deliver timely, accurate financial statements, reports, invoices and client services. Execute the necessary accounting work related to our monthly close, prepare financial analysis reports, develop and maintain department budgets, and generate cost reports and invoices. Proactively contribute to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accounting team to significantly reduce manual work/work arounds that may cause significant time constraints/inaccuracies or delays.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with coordination of the month end close across all departments, including preparation of monthly close journal entries and accruals.
- Prepare various Balance Sheet and Income Statement reconciliations and analyses.
- Prepare various PBC schedules, and interact with auditors, for the annual audit of Cowan Systems, LLC and its affiliated entities.
- Assist with various aspects of the annual budgeting and forecasting process (including shared service analysis) and communicate with department and operating company leadership accordingly.
- Assist with ad-hoc accounting/finance projects, including program implementation.
- Assist with any other month-end, quarter-end or year-end duties, ad-hoc FP&A, analysis of various accounts, business communication, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- B.S. in Accounting/Finance or B.A. in Management with a concentration in Accounting/Finance.
- CPA or MBA Preferred.
- 3 years of experience in Accounting.
- Demonstrated excellence working in an accounting or finance-related position.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to learn and utilize new tools/technologies on the fly.
- Experience with Accounting Software (Sage 500 preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple priorities.
- Desire and ability to gain an understanding of processes.
- Experience in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating own work schedule.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and collaborative skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
