Cox Automotive is Hiring a Quality Inspector Trainer (Manheim) Near Oceanside, CA
Senior-level Inspector that focuses on audits of condition reports and supporting training for new and existing vehicle inspectors.
Minimum:
- Maintain an understanding of the automotive industry inspection concepts and methodologies.
- Serves as senior-level Inspector and subject matter expert in terms of inspection processes and methodologies.
- Collaborates with auto technicians to handle and thoroughly inspect significantly damaged or otherwise compromised vehicles.
- Plays a lead role in reviewing inspection reports, identifying material issues and recommending steps to secure positive auction results.
- Supports 4T's with Inspector training, ensuring team members have requisite knowledge and hands-on training.
- Inspecting vehicle equipment and options, documenting results of damaged, missing operable,
- Engages with VE Leader and customers to understand questions, issues and concerns.
- Ensures customer complaints are addressed effectively and in a timely manner
- Communicates customer needs and suggestions for changes that will improve customer service and better meet customer needs
- Communicating and working with ground teams at client locations to verify and review desired vehicle inventory.
Minimum:
- High School Diploma/GED and 7 years' experience.
- OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 5 years' experience;
- OR 9 years' experience in a related field
- Valid driver's license required.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive body & mechanical work.
- 3 years of body shop, mechanical, claims adjuster, or estimating experience.
- Ability to multitask and must be detail orientated. Experience in navigating handheld and other documentation devices preferred.Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to crouch, bend, and kneel to look at side or underneath car.
- Strength to lift hood or trunk. Bend while performing audits.
- Reach inside or underneath vehicle.
- Near vision abilities required to find dings and scratches, paint work, hail damage, frame/unibody, other exterior damage and Interior damage.
- Able to identify exterior or interior colors
- Ability to deal with different lighting (i.e. exterior and interior lighting, natural and artificial light) Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes in order to meet business requirements.Work Environment:

USD 25.29 - 37.98 per hour
Compensation:
Hourly base pay rate is $25.29 - $37.98/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
