The Admissions Clerk is responsible for completing all admissions for any patients receiving services at Health Systems, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Cozad Community Health System.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis description intends to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job. ·Processes all admissions of patients for any type of service offered at all locations.
oAccurately collecting demographic information and insurance.
oVerifying active insurance
oGetting the appropriate documentation signed.
·Obtains all information needed for Work Comp and MVA admissions.
oMakes note of information to be obtained from the employer.
·Provides required labels, wristbands, consents, face sheets, etc. that any department may need for the patient.
·Assists with answering incoming calls.
·Assists patients with paying their bills and general billing questions.
·Serves as a back-up for other Business Office positions as needed.
·Follows all HIPAA guidelines and promotes and ensures patient safety.
·Fulfills mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive and professional environment.
·Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service, money handling, and general clerical experience required. Computer experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Basic Life Support (CPR)
