Job Description:

Establishes and maintains mutually respectful partnerships with families to enhance the quality of their lives and their communities. Annual job assignments may vary based on program model.

Pay Scale:

Step 1: 36 semester hours of college credits in any subject and experience working with families, community resource and people in crisis situations $ 22.09

Step 2: 36 semester hours of college credits in any subject and completed Family Development Credential OR Associates Degree in unrelated field $ 23.77

Step 3: Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field $ 25.22

Step 4: Associate Degree social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field. Related field is 24 college credits in topics listed above. Associate Degree in unrelated field with FDC $ 25.92

Step 5: Associate Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field and completed FDC. $ 26.64

Step 6: Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field and FDC $ 27.94

Step 7: Bachelor's Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field. Related field is 48 college credits in topics listed above. $ 28.78

At CPCD, we provide more than 1,500 children living in poverty, or who are challenged by special circumstances, with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Additional Benefits for Eligible Employees (25 hours per week): 

CPCD offers paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays/Breaks. 

  • Paid Holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Presidents Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Paid Breaks include 1-week for Spring Break (March), 1-week for Fall Break (November), and 2- weeks for Winter Break (end of December/beginning of January).

Tuition Assistance is available after 60 days of employment 

  • $4,000 per year for Early Childhood Education Associates/Bachelor’s Degrees.
  • $2,500 per year for other degrees related to employment at CPCD.

  • Full well-being program to encourage and promote your well-being in the workplace, including 2 hours of paid time per month for wellness activities.

Requirements

Required:

  • A minimum of 36 semester hours of college credits and experience working with families, community resource and people in crisis situations. Candidates without an Associate’s Degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling will commit to completing the Family Development Credential program within 18 months of their date of hire.
  • Knowledge and ability to use various computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required).
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and if using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado. 

Preferred: 

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field or equivalent college credits (48 semester hours)
  • Two or more years experience in working with families and community resources, and working with people in crises situations.
