Crédit Agricole CIB is Hiring a Director, Cross-Asset Structurer Near New York, NY

The Global Markets Structuring team is organised regionally with the following mandate:

Day-to-day transaction origination, marketing and structuring of complex products to GMD Sales network of macro and secured funding solutions across asset classes:

I. Macro

  • Rates
  • FX / Precious Metals
  • Credit
  • Cross-Assets (formerly known as “hybrids”)
  • Equity Derivatives

II. Secured Funding

  • Repo / Reverse Repo & Collateral Exchange
  • Total Return Swaps
  • Secured Loans

III. “Alternative Solutions” e.g. Non-flow secured financing, Repack, risk transfer solutions, Proprietary Indices…

  • Foster cooperation and ensures a smooth execution process between trading and sales
  • Design and develop new products, tools, materials responding to clients’ needs and sales feedback and coordinate the internal development process (New Products Approval, Complex Transactions, Credit Committee, …)
  • Local implementation or development of appropriate / tailor made “packaging” and “financing solutions” (Secured financing, MTN, loan, repack, flexi-loan, fund, liquidity / risk transfer solutions) with a strong transactional motivation in order to optimise CA CIB’s clients’ objective versus risk, accounting and/or regulatory constraints
  • Ensure the business is carried out with the highest origination standards from both a compliance and legal standpoint
  • Represent the business / be the main point of contacts:

... Internally to CACIB but external to GMD: Main contact points for external partners within CACIB in the context of “Distribute-to-Originate” model (Coverage, DCM, Securitization, Loan Syndication, Structured Finance, Trade Finance…)

... Externally to CACIB: to clients, regulators, industry bodies and the wider CA Group

... Core customers are Financial Institutions, Private Banking and large Corporates reached through the commercial division network.

... Cross-Asset Structurers will retain a “focus” as per section 8 of this document.

Summary of Position

  • Take on Senior Structuring responsibilities within the Global Markets Structuring desk in New York with a focus on Financial Institutions solutions
  • Work closely with Sales and Trading to originate, arrange and develop relevant solutions across Macro, Secured Funding or any alternative products; targeting FI clients

Primary Responsibilities

Liaise with the sales force regarding their client’s financial requirements or targets, in terms of achieving return on investment, to identify a suitable compliant product that will produce the required results.

Work in coordination with sales to propose products and solutions (pricing, strategy, pitch, client meetings…) for hedging, liability management, secured financing or investment purposes.

Prepare marketing materials for products (existing and new), for review by the customer, CACIB and Lawyers.

Execute the transactions with Trading according to CA-CIB pricing policies.

Ensure “best-in-class” trade execution from pre to post-trade to offer best client service, in continuous accordance with internal and external rules and regulations.

Work closely with other global structuring team to ensure efficiency of production and to leverage idea generation.

Contribute to the development of new products (or adapt to local clients) by answering swiftly to reverse-enquiries, observing the competitor trends, modification of the regulatory environment or by providing new pricing tools / models.

Maintain awareness of market changes and performance and the impact on products.

Provide marketing assistance (including client visits) to the commercial division. Educate sales on using pricing systems and update them on any changes or new features (including xVA topics).

Reporting to management of the pipeline, execution of transactions, counterparty risk exposures, sensitive files

Be involved in projects regarding new product developments and new business initiatives.

Provide idea generation on products across asset classes.

Managing and Reporting

Reporting: Head of Global Markets Structuring AMERICAS

Report to the management on an ad-hoc basis where business dictates and requires (e.g. NBI and commercial performance locally, sensitive files…)

Provide technical support and direction to more junior staff as appropriate.

Risk

Adhere to CA-CIB policies and be alert to risks arising from transactions for the bank and the client.

Seek validation by Trading / Risk / Compliance / Legal (as relevant) on all transactions involving a risk position by the bank.

Take into account compliance and reputational risks in the design of solutions for clients.

Ensure the adequacy of the solution with the client’s objectives.

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities

Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy. Complete any mandatory training in line with legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements.

Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

Refrain from taking any steps which could lead to the removal of certification of fitness and propriety to perform the role.

Undertake all necessary steps to satisfy the annual certification process.

Comply with all applicable conduct rules as prescribed by the relevant regulator.

Other/Specific Responsibilities

The candidate will have a focus on Financial Institutions Solutions:

Work closely with Sales to originate relevant structured transactions with our Americas Financial Institutions clients segment

Generate trade ideas or solutions pitch around fixed income products and underlying (Rates, Credit, Cross-Asset or Secured Funding)

Develop or implement relevant products, including but not limited to Non-Linear options strategies, Secured Funding transactions (TRS, Repos, Securitized Repo), Balance Sheet Optimization transactions, Asset-Swaps packages, Liability-matching investments, Repack…

Primary client targets include: Insurance Co, Asset Managers and Banks/Dealers

Implement products, processes and legal framework in coordination with all relevant support functions: Credit and Market Risk, Collateral Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Tax

Coordinate FI opportunities and marketing campaigns with the Global Markets Structuring team worldwide and relevant trading desks

Liaise with sales or sales management to provide relevant marketing material (including attending client meeting) for FI initiatives and marketing campaigns

Propose new products to clients by observing the competitor trends, modification of the regulatory environment or by providing new pricing tools / models.

Work on ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications/Education Required:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with a major in Engineering, Mathematics or Finance.
  • Fixed income structuring experience and expertise: secured funding, macro derivatives and/or credit.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in financial engineering/ structuring and new product development.
  • Experience in derivatives and secured funding transactions.
  • Experience in Financial Institutions structuring & solutions.
