LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT DESIGNER SUMMARY: Creates detailed construction drawings, including plan, cross section, and construction details, along with topographic, aerial, and other related maps used in planning and construction of Landscape Architecture projects such as land development and land planning by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Assists in providing landscape technician and CAD drafting skills to all Crafton Tull offices.
  • Assists in drafting the layout of projects in collaboration with Landscape Architects, Engineers and Surveyors.
  • Assists in preparing Landscape Architecture preliminary designs and project plan sets utilizing the requisite software used by Crafton Tull offices.
  • Works closely with the Landscape Architect, Civil Engineer, Engineer Intern, Project Manager, support staff, and other team members to produce construction drawings.
  • Prepare preliminary cost estimates as directed by the Project Manager
  • Make corrections to plans following redlines provided by Crafton Tull staff or outside review agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college or university. Or a two year associates degree in CAD drafting with at least 3 years’ experience in Landscape Architecture plan production.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as averages, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to utilized and understand geometric principles.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Design software, Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid driver license.
