Craig & Heidt, Inc. has an open position for a Heavy Haul Truck Driver. Our company driver’s primary focus is to transport / deliver heavy equipment safely and effectively to our various job sites throughout Houston and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate would have experience with oversize / over-dimensional heavy haul trucking.

• Additional duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
• Delivering construction equipment to and from job sites.
• Works with the Superintendent to ensure proper permitting is secured.
• Maintain current truck logs per FMCSA regulations.
• Completed pre-and post-trip inspections thoroughly and reports immediate concerns to the Superintendent and Mechanic Supervisor.
• Securely loads equipment, machinery, and parts. Then safely transports to the destination. Finally unloads properly to prevent injury and / or damage.
• Comply with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations as well as company safety policies.
• Various yard duties.

Requirements :

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-Class A) with appropriate endorsements.
• Valid TWIC Card.
• Must pass DOT physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
• 3-4 Years Experience transporting heavy construction equipment.
• Knowledge and ability to safely load, secure, and unload cargo using proper techniques.
• Knowledge and ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Knowledge and ability to fill out logbooks and company documentation in compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
• Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents
• Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.

Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is : Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls / FRC.

Compliance with all OSHA and / or MSHA regulations.
