DescriptionHead Coach – Varsity Girls Ice Hockey Founded by Detroit philanthropists George and Ellen Booth in 1904, Cranbrook Educational Community is one of the world’s leading centers of education, science, and art. Comprised of a graduate Academy of Art, contemporary Art Museum, Center for Collections and Research, House and Gardens, Institute of Science, and more than 1,600 students attending our Pre-K through 12 independent college preparatory Schools, Cranbrook welcomes thousands of visitors and students to its campus each year. Critics have called Cranbrook “the most enchanted and enchanting setting in America” and in 1989 it was designated a National Historic Landmark. Cranbrook Athletics is looking for a dedicated individual passionate about coaching to join our esteemed Varsity Girls' Hockey Team. Our team has a strong track record of success, including five State Championships and a runner-up finish in the most recent season. This position is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a winning tradition. Cranbrook has a rich athletic tradition, with numerous conference, district, and regional titles to our name. We have also secured an impressive 99 State Championships across seven different sports. Our top-notch facilities, such as the Thompson Oval, Wallace Ice Arena, Williams Natatorium, Keppel Gymnasium, Jack Sanders Baseball Diamond, and one of the premier Tennis complexes in the nation, are a testament to our dedication to excellence.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToCoaching responsibilities encompass overseeing all aspects of the Ice Hockey program, including but not limited to:
RequirementsSuccessful candidates will bring a wealth of experience, with at least three years of successful coaching at the collegiate or high school level or in a travel team setting. We place a high value on candidates with ties to youth hockey in the Detroit area, as this demonstrates a deep understanding and connection to our community. Your local ties will not only enhance our team but also strengthen our community bonds, a crucial aspect of our team's success. Candidates should have demonstrated communication and community relations abilities and work effectively with students, staff, administration, and parents.

- Organizing and conducting practices
- Developing and implementing effective game strategies
- Supervising Assistant Coaches
